snack happy


I love food.  Consequently, I hate dieting.  Don’t get me wrong.  I don’t mind the fruits {mmmmm strawberries} or even the vegetables {mmmmmm broccoli}.  And, I could eat chicken until I start growing feathers and laying eggs. 

But after about a week, I just want to dive into a plateful of cheesy french-fries or devour two {or three} scoops of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. 

Probably the hardest part of all is trying to avoid “snacking”—resisting the urge to grab that bag of chips or pull out a couple of those cookies.

So, I’d like to share with you some of my diet-savers.

Instead of…
Lay’s Stax
12 chips = 150 calories & 9 fat grams



Try…
Special K Cracker Chips
30 chips = 110 calories & 2.5 fat grams 



Instead of…
Oreo Cookies
2 cookies = 101 calories & 4.3 fat grams



Try…
Quaker Mini Delights
1 bag = 90 calories & 3.5 fat grams



Instead of…
French Fries
1 small order of McDonald’s fries = 209 calories & 10 fat grams



Try…
Alexia Spicy Sweet Potato Fries
30 fries = 170 calories & 7 fat grams



Instead of…
Ben & Jerry’s Half-Baked Ice Cream
½ cup = 270 calories & 13 fat grams



Try…
TCBY Frozen Yogurt
½ cup = 120 calories & 2 fat grams



So, some of these are better substitutions than others, but this is what works for me!  And, just a little update… I’ve lost 12 pounds this summer!  The best part is that I can honestly say I’ve never gone hungry.  If you eat the right things, you can actually eat more, not less.  That’s great news for a food-lover like me!
