satisfyin' that sweet tooth

So, I’m aware I haven’t posted in forever.  And I don’t really have time to write up a deep, meaningful post right now.  Therefore, bring on the pictures!

I have been working on my goal #8 for the summer {learn to cook}.  So I have been a little busy in the kitchen.  On second thought, it’s not really cooking.  It’s more like baking and chopping.  But, same difference.

I’ll start by showing off my chopping skills with my yummy fruit salad.  Mostly, because this will be the only healthy thing I can show you, but also because I love it so much.  Look at all those pretty colors!  I had to go “google” how to peel and cut up a kiwi. {How pathetic is that?}

Next, is my homemade version of “big cookie.”  I call it “skillet cookie!”  And, it was oh so delicious.  Unfortunately, I needed my friends here with me to share it.  I could only eat a couple bites it was so rich.

After that, I was a little adventurous and tried this cookie recipe for Fluffernutters {I just like saying that} I found on the Internet that said I only needed three ingredients:  peanut butter, marshmallow and eggs.  I was all for that—cheap and chocolate-less! Good news is, they really do bake!  Bad news is, they don’t taste too great!  So, I don’t recommend this treat, unless you like the taste of burnt peanut butter. {Maybe I cooked them too long, so feel free to prove me wrong.}

And now, my favorite thing I made… and I didn’t even get to try them!  I made these for my friends, and considering that they devoured them in less than two days, I would say they were a success.

If you don't know what you're looking at--and you probably don't--these are oreo-stuffed chocolate chip cookies.  That's right, you no longer have to choose between your beloved oreo cookie and your favorite chocolate chip, they come together!

I know what you’re thinking… How did you make these without sampling the ingredients?  Answer:  It was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.  And, it helped that I was making myself something at the same time!

If you want to try these yourself, you can get the recipe at http://www.collaborativecurry.com/2011/06/oreo-stuffed-chocolate-chip-cooikies.html.  Enjoy!

But, that was a little look into my kitchen adventures.  Next time I promise to have something more… Inspiring? Thought-provoking? Motivational?  I don’t know… we’ll see!

  1. That last picture totally makes my mouth start watering. You're using your photography skills excellently! Maybe we did learn something in that class after all ;-)

    The fruit salad looks super yummy too!
