what's new at WC

Can you believe my little blog has been around for two and a half years? Now, I’ve been far from consistent on posting until recently, but it’s hard to believe what started as a little summer project has become what it is today. I have loved to see it evolve over time {check out the original header above}, and I am even more excited about changes to come.

I’ve known since its creation that I wanted to purchase an original url for the blog – was just too long to type and too long to share. My earlier searches were unfruitful, and yielded almost no variation with a .com ending.

So began the decision on whether or not to change the name. I thought long and hard on a new name, but both “Jenny” and “Fish” are pretty common and I came up with nothing original.

Besides, I love the name of my blog. It’s not only an accurate description of my day-to-day life, but it is also a beautiful reminder of how God purposefully created me. And as the world continues to tell me and other women {and men} that we are not beautiful enough, not smart enough, not worthy enough – it’s a message I want to continually reiterate through this blog and my writing:

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it… You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!
~Psalm 139:14, 16-18a

So when I started up my search again, and found, I knew this was supposed to be the name of my blog. All this to say, my blog has a new address! The old address will still take you to my blog, so if you happen to be one of my very favorite few who have my site bookmarked, you shouldn’t have to change anything.

But that’s not all! {I sound like a salesman from an infomercial.} I have also created a new Facebook page and Twitter feed for the blog. I am still second guessing have a separate Twitter for my blog, but it’s so easy to switch back and forth on the application, that it might be worth it. I’ll test it out for a few weeks, and let you know.

And the best part is that all of those pages and more can be accessed through my new buttons on the side bar! Those are probably the change I am most proud of since I had to dive into the unknown world of HTML coding, but it worked! And after some quick color changes on the blog, everything goes together nicely.

If you’re a regular reader, be sure to go like my Facebook page and follow my Twitter account. And if you’re a regular blogger, I want to know: What should my next step be as I get more involved in the blogging world? I need all the advice I can get.

  1. I love seeing you and your blog grow! I'm still working on some formatting/layout ideas myself! It's all a process. :) Now I know who to ask for coding help!

  2. Well, I learned this awesome trick that I would love to share - where you don't really need to know much coding at all.
