living a life worth writing down + MY FIRST GIVEAWAY

While preparing for my wedding and move to another state, I had the daunting task of cleaning out my childhood closets. {Yes, I had two closets growing up, and I’ve been helplessly spoiled ever since.}

As I was going through all the stuff that had accumulated over the years, I found no less than 20 notebooks. Some were big, some were little. Some were plain, some were cute. Some were journals, some were prayers. Some were from when I was 8, some were from when I was 20.

Reading through those notebooks caused numerous feelings to bubble up inside of me. I laughed. I cried. I felt nostalgic. I felt regretful. I felt dumb. I felt wise. But most of all, I was so thankful to have those notebooks to help me remember the little details of my past that have escaped over the years.

My first kiss. My first heartbreak. Accolades earned. Lessons learned. The ups. The downs. The in-betweens. They’re all there.

Needless to say, I have a love affair with notebooks. Target has gotten more of my money than I care to admit just from the notebook aisle alone. I love taking notes, jotting down phrases and quotes I don’t want to forget, writing a simple prayer in a rough spot.

But most of all I love to live and I love to write. If I had to pick a life motto, it would be this:

“I want to live a life worth writing down.”

It’s my reminder not to be lazy. No one wants to write or read about the hours I spent watching Netflix.

It’s my reminder not to be selfish. No one wants to write or read about my pride or greed.

It’s my reminder to passionately seek after God and His will for my life. Because that’s where I find my meaning and purpose. And that’s what is worth writing and reading about.

A couple of months ago I won a $100 gift card from Moxy Ox to use in their print shop. When I saw that I could create custom notebooks, it’s the first project I took on. I designed the cover of this notebook myself, and it was my first attempt at hand lettering. And now, to celebrate the Christmas season and my 100th blog post, I’m giving away one of these notebooks. Just participate in the contest below!

And I am also a southern girl who doesn't drink sweet talk, talk with a twang, wear camo or wear bacon scented perfume. But, I do say "y'all" from time to time. Hope we can be blogging friends! Good luck on the giveaway!
