the v-day graphic tee

My best friend, matron of honor and former roommate is a graphic designer at a screen-printing company, which means she spends her days creating awesome t-shirt designs.

The girl is crazy-good, and can design dozens of t-shirts in one day. Last time #thezoo got together for a reunion, K gave us all t-shirts showing off the states we are currently representing. It was so weird seeing my “j” in Tennessee.

These are just a few of Katlyn's designs over the years. The one on the left she screen-printed with a embroidery hoop - I told you, she's crazy-good.
Her company, Creator Designs, is especially known for their happy holiday tees, and they are always turning out incredibly cute designs that make me wish I could wear t-shirts to work.

A couple of weeks ago, I received an awesome package from Katlyn with this Valentine’s Day t-shirt and the sweetest note. Thankfully, the big v-day landed on casual Friday this year, so I was able to show off my gift.

Graphic tees are becoming an unexpected staple in my wardrobe, and I love pairing them under blazers, cardigans and scarves. This t-shirt is the perfect shade of green, and I love the bicycle design.

But, most of all, I love it’s message – a quote from Mother Teresa, “Do small things with great love” and 1 Corinthians 16:14, “Let all that you do be done in love.”

The bracelet was a little Valentine's gift from my mom and it went perfect with my outfit.
Their next happy holiday tee will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and it was created by Katlyn! Which means you should stop by the shop and order one pronto!

  1. So cute! My valentine's look was yoga pants and a tank top. But I did shave my legs! :)

  3. Wow! Those designs really are out of the ordinary--very cool! And I love the faith-twist on them!

  4. I know Katlyn loves working for a faith-based organization. She's got to create T-shirt designs for Sanctus Real and other Christian bands. She's incredibly talented - I can't brag on her enough.

  6. She's so talented! For her senior seminar class she created a resume on a T-shirt and then screen-printed it herself - crazy!

  7. I rocked the T-shirt & jeans all day, then immediately changed into sweat pants after dinner. I almost didn't shave that morning, then I thought that was the least I could do for the hubby.

  9. Those are the cutest shirts! I'm gonna have to jump over and check out all her stuff. PS - Do you recommend Sanuks? I'm in a huge debate about buying their sandals. They looks so comfy but I'm so indecisive...

  10. Yes, she does - except on the days when she has to make a billion "District Champs" shirts. But, she is definitely VERY talented!

  11. You should definitely check out the shirts! And... I've owned four pairs of Sanuks in my lifetime if that tells you anything. They are INCREDIBLY comfortable, and they were a go-to in college when my wardrobe was more relaxed {like in the above photos}, but now I definitely don't get as much wear out of them. My only complaint is that they wear out pretty quickly - just like my Toms did - and start to look pretty ratty. But, maybe that's just my fault. So, I don't know if I'd be willing to pay $50+ on a pair now that my paycheck pays for two.

  12. So ... confession ... in the last two weeks I have bought a pair of tennis shoes, a pair of boots, two pairs of Toms and Sanuk sandals. whooops! Granted they were all on super good sale!

Have you heard of Zulily? They had Tom's today for about 40% - 50% off. I got the Sanuk sandals that are like flip flops but have the back strap around your ankle. They look super comfy.

Needless to say ... I won't be buying shoes for a loooong time. Thanks for the recommendation for the Sanuks!

  13. I always find the greatest little treasures when I blog stalk you! (Although, perhaps I shouldn't proclaim my stalking tendencies too loudly...) Your friend is super talented! I have so many graphic tees, mostly from concerts, that I can't figure out how to style, but also can't bear to part with. I will definitely be stealing a few of your styling tips for my own wardrobe!

  14. Aw, I'm glad you like to blog stalk me, Corinna! I totally know what you mean - I find I have a lot of actual t-shirts I can't bear to part with {most of them basketball tees}, but I don't know if there is any magic styling tip that can help those!
