workout wednesday - the week that wasn't

And on week 6, Jenny rested.

She did not…
  • look at a scale
  • count calories
  • get up at 5 am
  • worry about missing workouts
  • stress about how she looked
  • say “no” to Valentine’s Day chocolate
  • stretch herself thin
  • take on more than she could handle
  • have a pity party
  • make herself feel bad about being lazy

She did…
  • go to bed at 8 p.m.
  • spend time in the Word
  • cuddle on the couch with her husband
  • read books
  • hang out with sweet friends
  • pamper herself
  • get a new haircut {thanks, Joanne!}
  • wear comfy clothes
  • take naps
  • light, stress-reducing elliptical workouts

And sometimes, weeks like this are exactly what we need.

It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

    sometimes rest is needed! and you know what? that doesn't mean that exercise is put on the back burner just cause you took a week to rest! :)
