and the girl who loved her hair...

… cut it all off.

before & after
Don’t worry, I still love my hair. It was just time.

1. I was tired of spending 30 minutes blow-drying my hair every morning - and that was on quick days. This morning I timed myself and it took less than 10 minutes. That extra 20 minutes gives me a whole lot of breathing room in the a.m.

2. My hair was in a constant state of frizz. No matter how much heat I brought, by the end of the day my hair was always a curly, frizzy, tangled mess. I wanted a style that could last all day and actually looked healthy. Plus, my curls are thanking me for taking off the added weight.

3. I wanted something new. The great thing about hair is that it grows back. I haven’t had my hair this short since freshman year of college, but I love changing it up. And now I have the fun new challenge of re-learning how to style mid-length hair.

Special thanks to my beautiful and talented friend Joanne, who doesn’t shy away from statements like, “I want to cut my hair off this weekend.” She did a great job and I love it!

But, not going to lie, thinking about my long hair this much is starting to get me a little emotional.

  2. Your hair looks great! I love that you cut enough off that it looks new and fresh but not enough that it still doesn't have length and body! It looks great on you. I'd probably go into a depression if I cut my hair. Like you, my hair has been long for forever, since high school!

  4. Sometimes it's just time for a change!! Healthy hair looks good, and sometimes it needs to be shorter to get back to a really healthy state!

  9. I know! And I loved my long hair... I just didn't love fixing it. I just keep telling myself I can always grow it back.

  10. Thank you, Chelsea! I'll have to pass that on to my stylist - it was all her.

  11. Yes, I happen to love change - which I hear is a little weird. And, my hair definitely feels WAY healthier. Sometimes I can't believe how soft it is.

  12. Do you blow dry it every day? Blow drying my hair is one of my least favorite things to do. And thanks, Ashley!
