t3 - drink more water

Don’t worry. This isn’t going to be one of those posts that lists the 837 benefits of drinking your daily recommended amount of water. Though, you should really do that. I should, too.

However, it IS going to be a post that makes drinking your daily recommended amount of water that much more fun. I’m talking about water bottles: my constant companion and my favorite thing to collect. In fact, it was kind of difficult to narrow this down to my top three.

#1 The Autoseal - This guy’s at #1 for a reason. First of all, he’s purple - my favorite color. Secondly, he has a fun button you have to push to drink the water. Not only is it entertaining, but it’s also super practical when he’s rolling around in the floorboard of your car. Thirdly, he’s got a sweet pocket to hold card, keys, etc. And fourthly, he’s got a cap to protect the mouth, a handle that doubles as a clip and measurements along the side. He’s my go-to for workouts.

#2 The Tervis - Okay, so I bought this for my husband as a gift. But like his favorite sweater, his Netflix account and his side of the bed, it’s another thing I’ve commandeered for myself. I mean, how else am I supposed to rep my Hawgs? I like my water ICE COLD. So this keeps my water colder longer, which is good because it takes me WAY too long to drink the whole bottle.

#3 The Camelback - This poor guy was my constant companion throughout college. Daniel bought him for me the first summer we started dating. Since then, he’s gone through several replacement lids. I love the feeling of drinking out of a Camelback - is that weird? - but it’s really better for carrying around throughout the day than during a workout session when you want a lot of water in a short amount of time. He’ll always be my buddy though.

I know there’s a billion more cooler water bottles out there. And I wish I could buy them all. But, seriously, nothing takes up more space in the cabinets than water bottles!

Now, if I can just figure out how to make myself drink out of them on a more frequent basis…

What’s your favorite way to accessorize your water?

  2. I've also commandeered a couple gifts that I've given to my husband over the years...notably the blanket I'm wrapped up in right now. :P I have two water bottles that I use regularly--both of them were 'free' from my college. (but is anything from college really free??)

  4. I reallllllly need to get a nice water bottle that will make me want to carry it around. I probably only drink like 4 cups of water a day. Yikes. I really like that purple one! If I do carry around water with me, it's in a plastic starbucks tervis thingy. It's cute!

  11. Hi! Coming by from Jack of All Trades. Who makes the first water bottle? I'd totally get it! I had a great vacuum seal one but I dropped it and broke the cap. I'm doing plastic water bottles now, but I need a longterm replacement like woah.

  13. I love my Camelback, but I find myself using Daniel's more often. His has a filter in it and the spout isn't near as worn out. You can get a Contigo AUTOSEAL at Target for less than $15! http://www.target.com/p/contigo-autoseal-kangaroo-water-bottle-with-pocket-blue-24-oz/-/A-12903907?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=google_pla_df&LNM=12903907&CPNG=Kitchen&kpid=12903907&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=12903907&gclid=CJqiyoa1-b0CFbFaMgodlCkAPA

  14. In college we always took as much "swag" as possible from all their "giveaways" - Free T-shirts? I'll take 5! My tuition check will be in by the end of the month...

  15. I find that I drink way more water if I have a straw (especially when eating out) - I think that's why I love my Camelback so much.

  16. I'm telling you - water bottles make drinking water more fun! The purple one is great - and I like carrying around water in my "fish bowl" tervis, too!

  17. I think that's definitely a good obsession.

  18. I need to get a new Camelback - or replace my Camelback's lid again. It leaks! But, it definitely helps me drink more water.

  19. I was waiting for someone to say they had a Nalgene! Several of my friends had them in college and loved them. Do you have a mouth guard for it, too? Is that what they are called?

  20. I'm such a goal-setter so the measurements really help! I'll tell myself that I have to get down to a certain line before I can take lunch.

  23. Yes, they do! And I need all the help I can get...

  24. I had a mouth guard but I think it got left in Korea. I just love nalgenes because they are virtually unbreakable and are easy to take wherever you go.

  25. This post is amazing. I have to regularly stop myself from buying more water bottles. We have too many. I don't know what it is about water bottles, but they make me giddy inside. haha. :) (Coming from the Jack of All Trades!)
