this week the trend 11.17

what i captured:

what i did:

  1. If I had to leave Arkansas, I made sure it was never out of sight. All I have to do is look out the window and across the river to see my home state. This week I got to attend the groundbreaking for construction on the Big River Crossing - a bike/walking path that will connect Memphis Main Street with West Memphis Main Street and be the largest pedestrian bridge in the world.
  2. Lately, I’ve fallen in love with Ekata Designs jewelry, where each piece is made in Memphis by Nepalese refugees. Last week I won an Instagram auction for this I <3 MEM necklace. It was kind of hilarious reading everyone’s interpretations of what it said. #wowwo
  3. 27. That’s how many degrees it was when I started my 20-mile run Saturday morning. It was so cold my ponytail froze. But, thankfully I was in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Fayetteville’s trail system is AMAZING the way it connects all the green spaces. I can’t wait for Memphis to have something similar.
  4. Last but not least… WOOOOOOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE! RAZORBACKS! This girl right here is one happy hawg fan. We finally broke our (17-game) SEC losing streak last night by shutting out LSU and winning the Golden Boot. If all of that sounds like gibberish to you - I basically got to attend the loudest, funnest, awesomest Razorback game of my life.

what i wrote:

‘cause we’re young and we’re reckless - a letter to my teenage self {fun fact: I misspelled “reckless” all week}

what i read:

  1. One of these days, wearing heels will be effortless. Until then, there are valuable resources such as this.
  2. Male runners are more likely to have daughters and more fun facts from this running infographic.
  3. This really followed up nicely to my post this week on developing friendships.
