this week the trend 12.1

what i captured:

I didn’t take a single picture last week, which is crazy to me (unless you count this selfie of me drinking at Sonic Happy Hour #priorities). I blame it on a combination of being so incredibly busy at the beginning of the week and so incredibly lazy at the end. However, I think the best memories can’t be caught on film. For example...

what i did:
  1. … helping Mom cook Thanksgiving dinner. For some reason, I’ve never really carried my weight when it came to Thanksgiving until this year. It was nice to peel potatoes next to my mom and enjoy her company for a couple of hours. And, I made some pretty awesome mashed potatoes.
  2. ...playing touch football in the yard. During the halftime of the Razorback game (that’s the only time I’m going to mention THAT), Daniel, Clay, Spencer, Dad and I decided to play some 2-on-2 with Dad as all-time quarterback. Daniel tackled me. Hard. And the worst part? We were on the same team.
  3. ...watching Mockingjay Part I. I think going to the movies must be a Redfern holiday tradition. I got to see the new Russellville theater (snazzy) and enjoy some Katniss Everdeen.
  4. ...starting the Christmas decorating. I told my friends Sarah and Leah that our apartment was too small to have a tree this year - to which Sarah responded, “If you don’t have a tree, I’m going to call you the Grinch all month!” So the tree is up and will hopefully be decorated tonight.

what i read:
  1. I finished this book in an afternoon - Thanksgiving afternoon. It has some really deep themes about loss and grief and materialism, though it hit pretty close to home in the midst of my recent loss and grief. I think I'd recommend it.
  2. I’m pretty sure you can get me anything on this Christmas wish list and I'd be a happy camper.
  3. The best response I’ve read to the female booty-mania in our culture.
